For many organizations, project business is one of the most important tools stay competitive in their national and international fields. As a working method, projects are being increasingly utilized in a variety of industries. It is a recognized fact that Industry is currently lacking of project professionals and future project experts.
The project management championship is a competition in which students at level of higher education take on each other´s skills in project related rivalry. Purpose of the competition is to support project education, develop interest towards project management and at the same time find a fun way to network among other like-minded future professionals and organizations.
The competition is targeted to anyone interested in project business, leadership and for students at higher education level studying project related courses.

Phases of the competition
A three to four person team takes part in the competition. Team members have to be enrolled and present in educational institutes approved valid to the competition. The team composition will be organized the educational institution in question. However, the students may also do this independently. The competition itself will consist of two phases: qualification and a final.
Qualification
The first phase, qualification, will take place in Q2/2010. It will be an online questionnaire consisting of 100 multiple choice question s all related to project management, project business and project leadership. The website and the questions are in English language, hence the students need to have adequate English skills. The qualification phase should take approximately 2 hours as non-stop.
Degree of difficulty
Questions in the qualification phase are similar to questions asked in the IPMA D-level certification examination. To be able to answer, contestants have to be able to cover "soft" and "hard" skill areas properly.
Schedule
Registration to the competition will take place at a specific website that will be given here. After the registration the team will receive detailed directions to the programme used in the qualification phase. The qualification does not have to be completed uninterrupted. You can also familiarize yourself to the demo version found at the website. After completion, the team will receive a report which should be sent to the organizers.
The names of the finalists will be published at the website during the final phase. We will also notify the finalists personally. Teams cleared to the final will receive detailed directions at the same time.
Rewards
Commendation for successful participation will be given to all team members taking part in the project management championship competition 2010. In addition to the winning title, members of the winning team will receive a special honorable mention.
